Automotive AI splits cleanly into two halves, and most businesses are ready for one and not the other.
The customer-facing half is largely standalone. Kenect and DriveCentric handle enquiries and follow-up, and they work almost immediately because they need very little to be true about the business first.
The operational half is different. vAuto prices stock against your own sales history and turn. Pitstop predicts failures from service records. UVeye inspects a vehicle and compares it against what was recorded before. Each depends on the DMS holding a clean, consistent history — and dealer systems are famous for holding the same vehicle, customer or job under several records at once.
That is the split this assessment is built to expose. Governance & Agility and Digital Foundation carry the most weight, because the constraint is rarely the appetite to buy software; it is whether the records underneath it will support what the software claims to do.
